Installing new font in Ubuntu

  1. Login in as root
  2. Move the font file to say /usr/share/fonts/
  3. using the command, gnome-font-viewer view the font. Eg.
     gnome-font-viewer /usr/share/fonts/truetype/aarati.ttf
    
  4. Click on the install font button in the right bottom of the viewer.
  5. Restart the browser, you are done!
